Peny Papoitsi

Penny Papoutsi was born in Athens. She graduated from the National Theater Drama School (with excellence). She did vocal lessons with Elli Nikolaidis and painting with Vassilis Vassiliadis. Immediately after graduating from school, she was recruited to the National Theater, wheres he remained in his troupe for many years, performing key and leading roles throughout the repertoire.

She was the director of the Theater Department of the Municipality of Haidari, directing her own work at the Municipal Theater of the Municipality, the work of Angelos Terzakis “The Wedding Symphony” with the “Skinovates” group and the one-act of Tennessee Williams “At liberty”.

She has been teaching drama acting at the Ministry of Culture for 10 years. She took part in radio talk shows and starred on the “Theatrical Monday” (a weekly show for theater adaptations for national television). Lately she has published a poetry collection with the Italian-Greek Cultural Organization “microkosmos”. She is a founding member of the THEROS Cultural Society.

Eleni Papaioannou was born in Athens in 1993, where she had her first contact with dance. In 2014, she completed her studies at London Contemporary Dance School (The Place) and has been working as a professional performer, choreographer and dance teacher ever since. Helen has worked professionally with choreographers and artists around the world. A few names to mention are: Mariella Nestor, Luca Silvestrini (Protein Dance), Joanna Kalm, Seke Chimutengwende, Livia Rita, Alexis Blake, Sophie Niedzel, Anders Duckworth and Daniel Persson (Humanah Productions).

She has also attended dance, improvisation and choreography seminars, with acclaimed teachers such as David Zambrano, Ernesto Edivaldo, Bruno Caverna, Rick Nodine and Sue MacLennan. In 2014, she decided to launch the A (r) CT group, with the aim of promoting dance and the arts in general at unusual locations and unexpected places. Her team has so far participated in festivals in Greece and England with a variety of projects.

Aphrodite Oikonomidou is an exhibition curator and Art Project Manager. She was born in Thessaloniki and for the last 30 years she has been working and living between Italy and Greece. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and has been a diplomatic guide. Since 1985 she is responsible for the organization of festivals, international cultural events and exhibitions such as Thessaloniki Dimitrios Festival, BIG Torino, Winter Olympiad Turin, Artissima International Art Fair, etc. She focuses mostly in the field of visual arts and photography and works with Institutions, Cultural Institutions and Museums all over Europe and mainly Greece, Italy and Russia.

Kostas Kroustallis lives and works in Larissa where he owns a photography studio in the city center. For the last 7 years, photography has become an important part of his life. He has attended numerous seminars and his work has been published in a large number of electronic and print journals. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Greece and abroad. He is a founding member of the “fplus” photography group and a member of the international photography collective BULB.

Ioannis Kaffes graduated from the Law School of the University of Nicosia and continued his studies at the University of Western Attica (MSc in Public Economics and Policy) and then at the University of Piraeus (MSc / LLM Law and Economics). He has professionally focused on technology law and, in this context, he legally supports a number of NGOs and private companies. Ηe is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). From 2016, he has been working in the field of start-ups and he has been particularly interested in the development and interaction of new technologies (e.g. blockchain) in the field of legal science. He is a mentor at Social Dynamo, a joint initiative of the Bodossaki Foundation and the City of Athens. He speaks English and Italian.

Dr. George Kakavas studied History and Archaeology at the University of Athens (BA-1rst Class). He also holds a 1rst Class BA degree in Theology from the same Institution. After been awarded a Master’s degree in the History of Art from the University of London, The Courtauld Institute of Art, he successfully accomplished a PhD at the same University under the supervision of Prof. R. Cormack.

He worked for many years as a Field Archaeologist and Curator of Antiquities for the Greek Ministry of Culture and as a Research Associate for the Christian and Archaeological Society, and the University of Athens, Department of History and Archaeology; he is currently director of the Numismatic Museum at Athens.

He lectured and published extensively on key issues of Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic and Roman coins, medals, tokens, weights, Byzantine mosaics, manuscripts, icons, frescoes, coins, jewellery and Post-Byzantine painting, while his research interests also include the study of Byzantine fortification systems, as well as Post-Byzantine Architecture, mainly of the 17th and the 18th centuries. He also supervised the organization of major Classical and Hellenistic, Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Exhibitions worldwide and subsequently edited the accompanying catalogues or contributed to them with essays and numerous entries on a wide range of material.

Since 2008, Dr. George Kakavas is the Director of Ephorates of Antiquities, and the Director of the Numismatic Museum, of the National Archaeological Museum and the Epigraphic Museum. He is a founding member of International Federation of Finance Museums and has being ICOMON’S Europe Representative since 2016.

ΦΟΙΒΟΣ ΒΑΛΑΧΗΣ

Fivos Valachis was born in 1959 in Athens. He lives in Turin. He plays piano, guitar, accordion, bouzouki, baglam and santuri. In 1977, a graduate of the Athens Conservatory of Classical Piano, he settled in Italy, where he studied computer science and received a degree in jazz technique and improvisation. In 1978, he received the second prize at the UNESCO International Music Competition for Children. He has performed concerts and piano concerts with his works in Italy, Greece, England and France.

He has collaborated with compositions and songs with the Athens Epigraphic and Monetary Museum, the University of Athens, the Michalis Kakoyiannis Foundation, the Turin Letters Club, the Manchester Conservatoire, the Ciputra Artpreneur Museum in Jakarta (Indonesia), the Italian Association of Armenians etc. He has composed music for film and documentary.

His music is widely broadcast by European classical and neoclassical radio stations. His work is released in 5 CD collections: Nocturnes Vol.1, A Day In Venice, Another Day, Color Your Life, The Triptych of Love. He is one of the most popular contemporary music composers on SoundCloud internationally.
