The first fully accessible exhibition of engravings by Panagiotis Pristouris
The first fully accessible exhibition for people with disabilities in Greece is organized by MYARTIST in collaboration with the Epigraphic Museum, with works by artist and printmaker Panagiotis Pristouris. “The Route of the Line” presents 21 engravings representing the four stages of the artist’s journey.
In an effort to organize an exhibition accessible to everyone, the way the engravings are presented and explained has been significantly adapted. Each work is accompanied by an interpretation in Greek Sign Language, which can be found at QR, and there is also an audio description of the work by the artist himself. The title is also printed in Braille. The highlight of the exhibition is the tactile print “Gaita”, which is suitable for visually impaired people thanks to special lighting. In the case of the work entitled “Klisova”, the visitor can follow all stages of its creation, from the engraving to the finished print.
One of the many innovations of the exhibition is the design of a sensory map for people on the spectrum of autism, as well as the constant presence of an interpreter for Greek Sign Language and an attendant for people with visual impairments. At the same time, two interactive workshops on the freedom of expression of our individual identity (The Tyranny of Space) and the accessibility of art spaces will be held during the exhibition days.
The 21 engravings by Panagiotis Pristouris presented in the exhibition were selected with the collaboration of five international curators. Each curator dealt with a specific period of the artist’s artistic work, analyzing and evaluating the different phases of his artistic development and maturation.
The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture.
The following institutions have contributed decisively to the realization of the exhibition: e-Nable Greece, Amymoni, Hands-Up and Microkosmos.
